Hardwire Apple CarPlay Device

Hi.

I’m new to the forum so please excuse my unfamiliarity with this forum.

I have a 2024 RT.

I have just ordered this: https://aoocci.com/products/c6-pro-motorcycle-dash-cam

Great reviews on YouTube and front and rear cameras influenced me to bite the bullet and with a 22% discount code, £134 is pretty cheap compared to other units.

I haven’t received it yet but it seems it comes with a live and a negative connector as well as a yellow connector which I believe enables the unit to be switched on and off with the ignition switch.

Can any of you knowledgeable guys provide me with an idiot guide as to how to connect the unit power supply, preferably with photos.

Thank you in advance.

Hi.
Yes, sorted. There’s a blank connector left of yoke, bought a plug from flea bay, connected it to the Aoocci power leads, plugged in & works a treat.

I’ve put the link below to the YouTube video by Nothing To Prove which shows where the plug is.

hi thanks for getting back to me, can I just confirm that that the plug he is taking about is turned on and off by the ignition ?

Correct, it works off the ignition.

I had a look and found that there was an old cable attached to that plug. I think the previous owner had a Garmin.
this lead had only 2 wires. ( the Aoocci has 3)
so I think I have worked out that there is a positive (red) negative (black) and the yellow one is the signal wire that turn the thing on and of with the ignition. but when I wired it up got nothing. only when I held the yellow to the red did did it fire up, but would not shot down when the ignition was turned off. I am hoping that I have a dodgy plug and have ordered another one.
any thoughts ?
sorry to be a pain

As far as I remember, you don’t use the yellow wire.
Good luck with sorting it, it’ll be worth it.

Would anyone who owns an RT here in Australia know if we get this spare cable ?
