Trying to change my plugs and I'm having trouble fitting the special tool onto the top of the stick coil. It fits about half way but I can't get it to slide over and completely cover the top. I've looked at various videos and nobody mentions this as a problem In one, the guy smacks the side of it to get it to seat but that's not working for me. I'm thinking of using some lubricant. Any suggestions, tips or tricks? Thanks.

Have you got any photos?
If I remember rightly they do feel like they need to go on more even when fully home

The video is helpful and convinces me that I don't have the tool on fully. Still thinking of using some lubricant, maybe a bit of grease.

Update - On examining the special tool for removing the stick coil, I discovered a bit of a burr on on side which I think was catching on the coil. I filed it off, used a little bit of grease, and was able to get it on properly and remove the coil. Finally!
