Service Manual (not owners)

I'm really struggling to find a .PDF file that is the service manual for a 2008 R1200RT.

I've laid down money twice, now and in both cases, I get a 2.5GB download that turns out
to be an .ISO file or a zip file full of software meant for MS Windows. (I use Ubuntu)

Does the service manual I seek come as a single .PDF? If so, how do I purchase one?

Nothing is available from authorized sources, you takes your chances with anything pirated. I've never come across anyone selling a pdf version as it would be a huge amount of work to convert the BMW software based manual into a pdf. Probably easier to get yourself on older windows computer to run the programs you downloaded.

I have an old windows PC in my workshop that I run the BMW manuals on, mine are the legit versions from BMW when they still sold them, but I don't have anything for my RT as it was not available by the time I bought the bike and I haven't resorted to the unauthorized one (yet).

I've noticed that the manuals I've paid for seem to be a program not a PDF.

I'm only looking for instructions on engine/shaft oil replacement....sooo off to YouTube I go...

What is an "online" manual?

And thank you for that targetted link.

An online manual is just that really

It's all accessible online through an account

I think I'll go with a printed manual.
I want to learn how to change engine and shaft oil myself. :-)
