I've returned to the fold with a new RT

I sold my 1200RT a couple of years ago for a Triumph Tiger 900 which was some fun but neither a very competent tourer nor enough of a "throw it round the lanes" for 100 miles bike. So then I bought an R12 NineT when that was announced - I had an original R NineT around 10 years ago and it was so much fun.
Of course now that I had the fun angle sorted, I no longer needed the compromise represented by the Triumph so I've now traded that in for a 2021 R1250RT and I'm very happy with it so far :-)

Turned out the answer all along was to have 2 bikes to do 2 things, instead of just one.

I just have to work out how to remove the topbox now...

Looking good, congratulations, I'm pretty sure the top box is accessed by lifting the carpet in it and removing a couple of hand screws and the light cable. It's a while since I've done it, so if anyone else can elaborate please do

Looking good

If its connected to power then lift the rear seat and disconnect the power first

Then open the top box and look under the carpet and you will see a big dial in the middle slide the unlock tab and twist it then you are free to lift it off

Thanks - didn't realise there was power; I guess the big extra stoplight might have been a giveaway. It's a pity you need to remove both seats to get at it though
