Newbie from the French Alps

Hello there!
Just got a second hand r1200rt from 2011 and I was looking for the right community to learn from & share. I think I'm in the right place
About me, I'm 40 but I've only been riding bikes for a few years. Started with a small Royal Enfield 650, then went with a Guzzi v85tt, and now I'm finally riding the queen of the road

That was THE bike I was aiming for and I couldn't be happier with the first few hundred kilometers since I got it

! I'm riding pretty much in any weather so the heated seat/grips and perfect wind protection is much appreciated... I will soon be looking at some heavy commuting (300kms per day), and I think I now have the perfect bike for it!
I have always enjoyed "personalizing" my previous bikes, and with the RT I am looking at increased visibility for me (brighter headlight + a pair of aux fog lights) and from others (aux rear lights + aux brake light). And maybe a wider windshield (looking at the Wunderlich marathon shield). So I will be searching through the forums to find some tips
Cheers!

Hello (and please say hello to Annecy for me)
You got it
I assume you visited the region?
I'll make sure to share some pics of my future rides around the lake / mountain ranges
And if someone here is looking to plan a roadtrip that crosses the Savoie region let me know! I can share some recommendations for the coolest itineraries!

Yes, in 'the time before children' (> 20 years ago) we stayed in or near Annecy a number of times (summer and winter). Then a few years ago we needed somewhere to stay the night after a ski holiday before driving home so took the chance to take the kids there too.

Hi Etienne,
For your light =>
https://fr.aliexpress.com/item/10050049 ... pt=glo2fra
I use it since 2 years without problem and with a very good lighting because it's the same dimenssions and the light spectrum is the same never problem with other road users

Very interesting tip, thanks a lot!! I was looking at high intensity H7 bulbs (but with shorter lifespan) because of the prohibitive price of LEDs.
It is not mentioned in the product description, but I assume it plays nice with the canbus system? Do you use these for low & high beams (3x)?
