Hi! I recently got a 2016 R1200RT-P.
I have been riding my 2000 K1200LT cross country for the last 8 years wishing I bought the RT back then... riding legally for over 50 years. ;)
I also have a Harley Softail, and I just gave a Suzuki GSX600F to a friend of mine when I got the RT.
The RT needs work. I have been busy looking for some damaged parts, and a pair of panniers, etc. The bike came with no documentation, nor a user manual, etc., so I have been busy searching online for stuff.
I was hoping to prep it for a trip to British Columbia over the summer, but I may be taking the LT instead if I can't find the panniers.
I like my old Harley, but it is gutless, and gets scary over 65 mph!
Fortunately, both BMWs (and the Suzuki I had) are rock steady at much higher speeds when needed.
Cheers!
Bob

Thanks! I hope to get a lot of useful information about the RTs.
I only rode the bike about 50 miles home, and it is a much more maneuverable than my other two bikes!

Many updates on my ride.
The 2016 RT-P wasn't in good shape when I brought it home.
After a lot of repairs and updates and replacement parts being installed, I think it is cross country ready now.
A feral cat was helping me with some data inputs... or, he was just keeping his butt warm on the laptop.
