There is hope for short legged people, Calto Boots

I have a 29" in seam, and just about any bike is really too tall for me. My RT sports a Russell Day Long seat, so my bike is even taller than stock :(
I have tried all sorts of things to no avail. Up until now, when I come to a stop, I am on tiptoes and my bike feels very top-heavy. I have dropped my bike about a half dozen times due to poor footing.
I came across these Calto elevator boots. They were only $150, so I thought I would give them a try. They arrived yesterday, and today I took them for a 200-mile ride. In one word, WOW. I can now flat foot at a stoplight. A first for me. :-D Being able to use my heels make backing up my bike so much easier. So for me, they provide a major safety factor.
Walking in them takes a little getting used to, as my legs are 3.3" longer. It is just like walking in woman's high heels. But with them on, it is amazing how much more stable the bike feels at a stop. Rolling, there is not much difference from my Daytonas. I did not even have to adjust my shift linkage. But I did notice that the shift lever meets further up my toe, so it takes a little more effort to up shift. I can live with that.

The overall quality of the boots is OK, but not great. They run a little large. I wear an 8.5 wide shoe and the size 8 Calto fit me fine.
Basically, they solved my problems, so I highly recommend them.

Daytona make "higher stand" boots in various designs. Definitely not the cheapest, but I am already saving for my last pair of riding boots of that brand.

My current pair of Daytonas only have a half inch of lift. Daytona max out at less than 2.5". Sadly, I need the whole 3.3. (Mathematically, I thought I only needed 2.5". When they arrived, I was very glad that I went for 3.3".)
I would concur that if one only needs 2.4" of lift, Daytona would be the better choice.
