Washing Machine

Post by EasyRider »

So our 10 year old Hoover washing machine stopped working.
The wife said ok lets get a new one. i replyed, let me see is i can fix this one first.
She said No, it time for a new one. she wins. But i was not giving up on the old one just yet.
Down the workshop it goes, and i take it apart.
Found the problem right away. The bushes in the motor were gone.
I could of brought new bushes, but found a cheap new motor, which i brought.
At he same time i brought a new rubber drum to door seal.
The parts came and i fitted them and i now have a working washing machine.
I said to the wife we can cancel the new one now. "NO" was her reply.
She added that i can keep the old one down the garage and use it for my working cloths.
So at the cost of an extra £1.49 from toolstation i brought a fitting to connect the hosepipe to the washing machine. I also made a little trolly so i can move it outside when its being used.
So in total my bank account is now £540 lower than it was and no bike mods were brought :o
New washing machine was £450, and to fix the old one was £90. And i'm happy having my own washing machine for all my garage rags, and the dogs bedding i've been told to.
