rubbish collection

Post by Doctor T »

We are lucky to have only 2 bins. If you want your garden cutting, etc collected, we have to pay an extra £79 per year for a garden waste bin. In leaflets, we are always told that Chichester is above the government recommendation for recycling. I say we are being conned. The normal black rubbish bin with household waste is collected alongside the garden green bin. Now our bin men are very fussy. I once put dog hair in my bin, and they refused to empty the black bin. As I'm up about 5 am every morning, I've been watching the collections. They empty the black bin and the green bin at the same time into the same truck. These are mixed up together, so why the hell am i paying extra for a garden bin? The council tells me i have it wrong and they are 2 different collection trucks. I sent them videos with proof, date and time stamped, showing the lorry reg with the same people, and they still say I'm wrong. Even the bin men tell me I'm correct. Is this the Great British Cover-Up?
Trust me I am a retired Doctor and lecturer at Oxford University of Structural and Mechanical/Electrical engineering.
May the shaft be with you
