Hi
I'm looking to buy a 1250RT and have 2 in mind. One has adaptive cruise but not adaptive headlight and the other has adaptive headlight but not adaptive cruise .
Anyone chip in to help me decide ( the one with the adaptive headlight is £1500 cheaper) .
Which accessory

Re: Which accessory
Depends on the type of trips you do. If they involve long stints on motorways and fast trunks roads then go for Cruise Control. I've done several Iron Butt runs (1,000miles in less than 24hrs) and yes, thousands have done them without it, but CC* just makes life easier. Spend most of your life in an urban enviroment, rural or twisty roads and you'll hardly ever use it.
Same really goes for Adaptive Headlights? If you're a fair weather only rider who rarely rides a night time, what advantage are you getting from it?
*Edit: Mine is the plain old fashioned set the speed type CC. My car has Adaptive CC and one of the issues you get with that system is, particulalry on long boring motorways, when you've got the radar to max distance setting and maybe it's dark & you're a bit tired, but you don't notice you've slowly caught someone up, the cars automatically slowed down and you then suddenly think, how long have I been following this car for!

Re: Which accessory
I agree with Captain Sisko. I've rented 1250RT with adaptive cruise control in Portugal, but as we never rode on a motorway, I've never utilised the "adaptive" function of cruise control.
I have 1200 RT with standard CC, and my 2-hour motorway stints are comfortable as they are, I don't miss the adaptive function.

I am here to learn.

Thanks Gents , I think the cheaper one is winning at the moment. Use will be mainly for tours in Europe and Sunday rides with the Lads .
Never really hankered after adaptive cruise but as it seems to be what 99% of the reviews for the RT focus on I thought I would ask the question.

Go with CC if doing long trips.
Trust me I am a retired Doctor and lecturer at Oxford University of Structural and Mechanical/Electrical engineering.
