App won't show routes

I can't find this issue addressed anywhere:
When I select "go" after searching for a destination, the apps says "connect motorcycle and use all functions". My bike is connected (I get data from it) but the routes will not show on the phone
What am I missing? The bike is out in the shop, turned off....
