Should the forum and its name be extended?

Hi all.
Just a thought....should the forum name be extended to include the new 1300RT?
Also....I'm thinking about buying one so all thoughts / advice welcome. I currently have a R1250RT LE which is now 3 years old (bought from new) with FSH through BMW local dealership. It has c.19k miles and has been / is just superb. Should I keep or swap? I tour a fair amount in Europe and am conscious of not having the warranty any longer. Not sure of the amount it would cost me to swap but I would think it considerable. Any thoughts on how best to drive a good deal if I do swap?
Have BMW sorted out the irritating issue with the Connected Ride app on the new 1300 or does the perpetual 'drop out' with the nav still exist? Could be a game changer as buying a new bike knowing the nav system is compromised is not a good inducement!
Cheers.
Matt

I think you should get a demo ride on the 1300. My 1250 is a 2019 so very similar to yours but pre-TFT.
I just couldn't see enough improvement in the 1300 to justify the price. It was a little bit better all round but not a leap forward.
Personally I'm hoping to find a nice 2-year-old 1250 with top box and low seat, a few thousand miles and a good trade-in for mine. Colour irrelevant. Franchised dealer only. To go for the 1300 would be about £10k more than a 2-year-old 1250 and very much more expensive to insure.
But only you can decide if it works for you. The 1300 is a fine machine just not worth the cost right now. YMMV.

1200RT.com has already included the 1250 within its portals, so just calling it BMWRT would seem to make sense - more inclusive.

Can you extend the warranty and euro recovery on a 3-year-old bike? That might be worth looking at.

Just to answer the few questions.
Although the R1300RT has a boxer engine, they have been a hard sell for BMW with the number of problems with electrics and mechanics, also taking into account the number of returns of the model to BMW. Hopefully, the 2.0 of this bike will help with this. With time, i can see this model being included under our RT banner. When more people become more familiar with 1300 Rt, Questions can be asked via the normal sections.
This forum already includes the 1100/1150 Rt models. So, including the 1300 RT is no problem
With the question of changing the forum name. This i can not see it changing as it is a well regarded and trusted name with RT owners and the community around the world. We have more members than the official BMW club in the UK.
Changing the name would make it harder to find in the web rankings.

Yes, I've got a BMW warranty and Euro recovery on a 13 year old bike.
