Has anyone replaced the original horn ? Which has beebn your choice?

My new to me 2016RT has an aftermarket horn (loud - sounds like an air horn) installed in the stock location.
Nice clean install but now I understand why the previous owner didn't replace the low-beam center headlight.
The new/larger horn leaves no room to get behind the bulb.
It will be going back to stock at the end of the season.

Thanks all. That Denali thing,does it need an extrafuse? or any other extra electrical fitting? or just plug and play replacing the older one?
Referred to that bulb replacement, even with standard horn only skilled hands can reach that hidden place. Very hard times when replacing the central bulb

My 2007 RT has the horn button in such a crap position that by the time I have found it, the person I wish to "warn" has long since passed.

My setup is 2 x Fiamm hi/lo horns plus the standard buzzer. Sounds like a truck when used. About 120db

I can vouch for the Denali Horn. I haven't fitted it to my RT yet because I feel the stock horn is pretty good (2024 model) already, but I do have the quick connector and mount from Denali for my RT. I had it fitted to my previous bike, a 2018 Africa Twin and it is VERY loud. It'll make you jump the first time you hear it, haha.

I have a Wolo air horn on mine, and it works very well. Although, mounting in the original horn location is difficult and requires a custom bracket.

I have a 22 RT and the horn is excellent, way louder than my mates 21 plate GS, it's just standard, so there may be some differences in what is fitted, mine is more like a car horn.

Actually, I ´ve found out thru my research that denali´s got a mini sound bomb horn.

It looks like its installation its way more simple , just plug and play and no need to wire up thru fairing.

It needs some can bus connector which is offered as an extra and what it´s not clear enough is whether it needs an extra plate to get fitted to the original place or not

After having to make my own mount for my Wolo horn, I would say that that price is not excessive. That location is not easily accessible, and making my own mounting bracket was not fun. It was an entire day of trial and error.

Finally I got my Denali thing delivered and already installed. This is the mini bomb. Good enough! I´ve already used it on the road and it´s really enjoyable. Keeps your car neighbors out of your way
Installation is quite easy, plug and play , it doesn´t need any specific tools, a T30 and a 11 mm wrench.
I used the original straight bracket from BMW, the one that came with the OEM horn. The ones coming with Denali are really weak.
The thing is that working underneath the motorbike and all that fairing around makes your life very hard.
Also need to point out that the horn msut be carefully attached considering the fork bars, trying to place it the highest you can and the closest to the axis of the bike as possible.

Make sure the open / speaker end of the horn faces down & backwards. I killed my first Denali horn within a year because of water got inside. Denali replaced it under warranty but it was really my fault for fitting it in a position where water was rammed down its throat when I rode the bike in the rain.
