WunderLINQ Switch

Post by Stu »

I have been working with the guys at Black Box Embedded and testing a couple of new products which are in development.

I have received a WunderLINQ Switch and also an accessory controller

The WunderLINQ Switch is basically an updated version of the WunderLINQ see the review here viewtopic.php?t=7494

This device is made purely for the BMW R1200RT, R1250RT (not sure it it would work on the TFT model) and also the K1600GT

Instead of clipping in to the Nav prep mount this plugs in to the back of the instrument cluster

it improves the control on a mobile device

The main part is the one in the lower half of the photo

It plugs in to the instrument cluster by removing the main wiring to the cluster and replacing it with the corresponding plug and the wiring for the cluster plugs directly in to the other side of the wiring loom

Once installed you then pair the WunderLINQ Switch to your phone or tablet via Bluetooth then set up the WunderLINQ app on your phone
the app is available for the app store of your choosing! Android for me so here is a link
https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... =web_share

Once you are all paired up the device allows you to control your mobile device using the wunderwheel and also various other buttons.

You have to press down on the menu button for 3 seconds which then activates the WnderLINQ Switch thus allowing you to control your device with various buttons and the wonderwheel.

This brings the control inline with how the GS integrates with the original WunderLINQ which works much easier than going in to the menu for the sat nav on the instrument cluster

The zoom functions when using mapping are a lot quicker making it very quick and easy to zoom in and out on your phone to see planned routes or new roads to look for

Skipping waypoints when using My Route app is a lot easier

and many more improvements

The guys are also looking at the possibilities of making the radio buttons functional too although this is all in development and nothing released yet so watch this space on that one.

There is also an accessory controller too which is pictured in the top half of this picture

This allows you to control up to two accessories fitted to the bike ie spot lights which can easily be turned on with the WunderLINQ switch

This connects up to the WunderLINQ switch via a round plug that screws together and comes with an extension lead so you can position it close to the battery

It also comes with two waterproof connecters to easily connect any accessories you wish to use

I think this is a great addition to the bike if you wish to be able to control a mobile device with the wunderwheel on the bike even if its just for zooming in and out on maps or starting and stopping routes for controlling accessories too.

The app allows all sorts of data to be read from the bike too and can be displayed on the mobile device too

There is probably loads I have missed off here so watch this space for further updates
