Steering fork leak

On my 2007, I noticed a slight leak at the seal on my left steering fork so I started looking at DIY videos. One guy kept insisting that there was no utility for the forks being pressurized since they only steered the bike, and did not provide any help help with suspension. He didn't even recommend that you top up the fluid after performing the seal replacement. Does anybody know his advice is valid? It would seem to me that they would provide some assistance to the telly labor system, and even if they didn't that there might be a problem if one fork where more pressurized than the other. Also, does anybody know the general cost of doing one fork seal at a BMW dealership in the US (I shudder to think of it). Thanks.

He is right in a way that they done offer any suspension capabilities as this is all done by the spring and damper unit

I would be replacing all seals though and all oil whilst I am at it purely because oil does age with time and use so why not do the job correctly
