BMW R1200RT/R1250RT Forum

Has anyone been able to find engine guards for R1250RT that fit on the bike after installing Akrapovic exhaust? I bought a used RT where the prior owner put on Akrapovic exhaust and I want to install Ilium engine guards, but the BMW dealer says that the guards won’t fit because the aftermarket exhaust is partially blocking the hole where the guards would screw in. Thanks in advance.

I was able to install the Ilium engine guards. Just had to make a small dent in the front of the exhaust pipe. See pics.
