Connected App Issue

I have used the connected app on my 21 plate RT, since it was new, with no significant issues. However, over the past couple of months it has been behaving increasingly strangely and BMW seem incapable/unwilling/unable to offer any suggestions. BMW UK say they have nothing to do with the Motorrad app, but dealers should be able to answer my questions; 2 dealers haven’t been able to help and an email to BMW in Germany remains unanswered after a month. Until recently I have been able to load GPX files to my phone (Samsung Note 10), via email, while sat next to my PC. Now, when I try to this, the connected app GPX transfer screen appears momentarily on my mobile screen before defaulting to the screen normally accessed via the handlebar icon. However if I stand next to my bike, powered up with the app connected, it will let me transfer GPX file(s) by simply clicking on the attachment I have sent by email as I used to do. To cap it all, while trying to restart the mapping after a coffee stop my phone said I needed to connect the bike even though the mapping was working! I have reinstalled the app and installed an app update but I still can’t load GPX files away from the bike. As I get the load file momentarily my thinking is it is an app problem. Has anyone else experienced this and know what to do to enable me to go back to being able to load GPX files away from the bike?
