I have been noticing for a while that my favorite gloves were slipping on the throttle and I was frequently having to adjust my grip. It was just annoying, I like a thicker grip and use GripPuppies, which tend to get slick after awhile. I tried rosin and it was not very effective. I was in a sporting goods store the other day and noticed some tennis racket grip tape. It was perferated and had sort of a 3-D surface effect. I wrapped my grips with it and like the effect. My gloves feel like they are gluded to the bars and yet when I release my grip, they break free with no feeling of tackiness. If you are not happy with the way your grips feel, I highly recommend them as a quick and inexpensive fix.

Do the grip heaters work ok with them fitted?

No problem with the heated grips. I can't go past 3 bars without them being too hot,

WELL DONE Randy.... I don't care for the thicker grip when using the grip-puppies, but I now am hoping I can find a thing tennis racket wrap that will lay over my somewhat-slick original grips. Your description of your problem and then solution was very helpful and well comunicated. Big help!!

I prefer Grip 'Buddies' over 'Puppies'. They're still made from foam so absorb a bit of vibration but are thinner and let the heat through. Good quality bicyle bar tape is equally good, expensive but allows for a splash of colour if that's your thing.

In the picture it looks like you have added custom wind deflectors for the handle bars. Do these help a lot?

I made the grip wind deflectors.The clear plastic came from AliExpress. They work very well to keep my hands warm in the cold.
The problem is that they interfere with the view of the stock mirrors. For that reason I am not very happy with them. I don't like riding without a clear view of my mirrors. The only solutions are adding auxiliary mirrors or a rearview camera.

I have never seen those before. The GripPuppies originally provided an adequate grip. Those may also be a good solution, if they last more than one season.

My first pair lasted about 20,000 miles and although they weren't worn out as such, they were starting to look a little used. As I'm a little OCD about keeping my bike looking pristine I replaced* them.

*I did actually keep the old ones as the foam is really good quality and if you ever need to mount something that needs a bit of protection against vibration, the grips can be cut into very useful pads.
