Just thinking out-loud here as there are a few sales on at the moment, but what are peoples experiences with Jet style open face helmets, i.e. a sort of regular open face but with an elongated and much stiffer visor?

I'll be sat behind the fairing & adjustable screen of an R1250RT and the helmet is very likely to end up just as a sunny day helmet where the extra ventilation of not having a chin bar will be appreciated, but not having last worn a p*ss pot helmet in 40 years, what's the hives mind on what they're like to wear on the open road, i.e. wind & noise levels. As it's only going to be a fair weather hat I'm not looking to spend a huge amount so no Shoie J-Cruise or Bell MAG 10, but this type of thing caught my eye. A drop down sun visor is a must and provision for comms desirable.

I used an LS2 Verso 1jet helmet for years. It's now a hanging flower pot :-D
I found it caused less buffering whilst using it on my Tiger and RT. One problem i found was in heavy downpours, the rain would start to get flicked up under the main visor and soak the cheek pads. On stripping it down to make the flower pot, i was amazed by the quality of the shell with the LS2 mix fibre layers that it was made of. My Cardo with the larger JBL speakers fitted without any trouble
I see now that there is only the Verso 11 available. If i needed a new jet helmet, that would be the first ill go for

Cheers Doc. That just the type of helmet I'm looking for.

I had a Schuberth J1 helmet a few years ago. It's a 'jet' helmet, but with a removable chin bar hoop. It can be worn with or without the chin bar.

I wore it quite a lot in the summer months - good ventilation, loads of vision and a nice 'airy' feel.

The J1 has now been superseded by the J2. I have no experience of this model yet, but I would expect something similar to the J1 version.

I've no affiliation to Sportsbikeshop, it was the first result on my Google search, but see here:

Another option is the Roof Boxers. I' have used these for over 10 years. Can be used as a full face, or you can push the chin bar all the way over and to the back and use it as an open facer. It's legal to use in the open position, too.
