Ooooh, my shin!

Post by Dugway »

Went on a five hour ride yesterday. Holy smokes! What ached more so than my butt … my left shank. And believe me, my butt was hurting!

Just my left leg, the muscle that runs up and down, close in next to the bone, maybe 10” to 12” below my knee along the outside of my shin bone; just killing me. Like weird shin splints injury, but I don’t jog! Woke up in the middle of the night with cramps in my left foot/toes.

Don’t know why just the left leg? As everyone here knows, the pegs on the RT are relatively high and sporty. Almost certainly my ankles are flexed at an acute angle as I ride primarily with the balls of my feet centered on the pegs. Wonder if lowering those pegs would alleviate some of the issues?
Just gimme just a second here … I am configuring it to “launch mode”! :o

Possible solutions:
  • Reposition pegs
  • Add highway pegs
  • Add more electrolytes to your diet

Try a compression stocking.
