2007 R1200RT

Post by Gary0003 »

I put the petrol tank back on and the the bike started and ran. Then I replaced all the panels and there was a loud click, Engine sign and EWP on the dash. I replaced the battery and now there are no warning lights and the bike turns over well but will not fire. The plugs don't appear to be getting fuel. I have replaced the fuel pump/controller with used ones from a supposedly running bike, but still no fuel pumping. I cant hear the pump running - is it very quiet?

The pump on my 07 is very quiet. IRC EWS Is the immobilizer or alarm. I've had the EWS light up on me. There is a little ring around the ignition switch where the key goes in. If this is damaged or unplugged, you will get the symptoms you've said. Also i found if i battery is low on charge, the EWS comes on.
Trust me I am a retired Doctor and lecturer at Oxford University of Structural and Mechanical/Electrical engineering.
May the shaft be with you

Thanks the bike/pump runs when I bypass the controller so I guess that’s probably the issue?
