Hello. I have a nice low milage 2005 r1200rt that I have been right through over the last year. It is fully loaded with every extra. I have removed the abs and fitted a fuel tank relay to fool the troublesome fuel strip. Everythings great and it passed the mot with no advisories recently. I have been enjoying some rides over the last few weeks, now that the weather has improved. Everything was working perfectly.
I went into the garage this morning and the parking lights were on, they werent on when i put her away.
Now, I am familiar with the parking light function on this bike and what is happening appears to be an electronics fault. I have read all the relevant information available. There isnt eeally much conclusive. Studying the wiring diagram provides some clues.
My plan is to carry out the following.
1. Switch the ZFE with a spare to test. I have one that matches my bike for the purposes of testing the parking lights.
2. Access the ignition switch wiring and clean.
3. Access the left hand indicator switch and clean.
If anyone has any other ideas based upon experiencing this issue, please do let me know, I would be very grateful.
