My 1995 GT 5.0 was inspected yesterday by two gentlemen and it is now officially classed as a historic vehicle.

This brings certain benefits:
- motor vehicle inspection now every four years instead of annually
- insurance about 50,- a year instead of 500,-
- no more annual road tax

Received new windshield yesterday from Fechter.de.

Installed the National Cycle VStream Z2401 today and went for a coffee ride. I'm 6'2" with seat in highest position and the Z2401 is spot on for me.

Earlier models have this annoying "clonk" in driveline. I believe this went away with 2013...14 models or so after certain redesigning.

Front wheel bearings typically need changing at around 50k kilometres. My buddy almost dropped his 2011 GT as theses bearings broke. Mine were rusty and noisy ...

RT had a Givi topcase but I wanted an OEM BMW case and found one already in -24 along with a Corbin seat.

I'm known for smooth and swift actions so already today it was keyed for my RT's key.

I finally chose TomTom Rider 550. It was available locally and was fifty or so euros cheaper than Garmin XT. XT2 was too big and even more expensive.

I need a new navigator for the R1100RT - a phone is not an option.

Both TomTom Rider 550 and Garmin Zumo XT fit the bill. IMHO XT2 is perhaps too big, definitely costs a lot more.

Both 550 and XT are available for about same price.

Any advise, please?
