Re: 300 mile range
Ditto - I did a 300 miler on one tank yesterday, and arrived at the pumps with 13 miles showing. Gets a bit tense, doesn't it.

Re: Hopeful newbie
Welcome to the forum.
I put on 13,000 miles last year, in my first year of ownership (2019 1250LE) and I have not had to spend a penny on anything between services. That said, I found the saddle uncomfortable after a couple of hundred miles, so I replaced it with a Russell Daylong, which cured that ...

Re: Blood Bikes
Each group seems to have different rules.
I was in Kent Blood Bikes for quite a few years, and although I have an advanced rider qualification, it wasn't a requirement (at least not when I joined) - but you did have to pass a ride where they followed you round a route for about an hour.

Re: What did you do today?
I was wondering that, as I grew up on a council estate in Welling before the family moved to the countryside.

Re: Bagster tank cover
I've got the offside strap done, thanks to those photos.
I have to get the bike out of the garage to do the nearside one, and it's raining now, so will try tomorrow.

Re: Bagster tank cover
That is above & beyond - thank you so much for doing that for me.
I have just spent the last hour trying to feed the strap down behind that panel and failed miserably - there's just not enough room.
Armed with your photos I will have another go either this afternoon or tomorrow morning.

That sounds brilliant. I'm not noted for finesse. I'm more of a "Bollocks - hit it with a hammer" kinda bloke.

Re: Bagster tank cover
Thanks for the photo, Martin - most helpful - at least I can now see exactly what you were talking about.
I've never taken those panels off before, I will have a go as soon as I can.

Re: Bagster tank cover
Thanks both. Seems to be a lot of trouble to go to though?
I took the bike out for a short run yesterday, maybe 20 miles or so, and there was no discernible movement on the Bagster without the long straps being fitted.
Tempted to leave it as is, but on the other hand, I have this little ear worm ...

Bagster tank cover
I've always fitted Bagster tank covers on my bikes, and I've just bought one for my 2019 R1250RT.
I've just fitted it. I had no problems locating where the rearmost straps had to fit, or the middle ones or the one that goes round the headstock, but there are two forward facing fixings at the front ...
