Driveshafts

Hi,

I was reading up on driveshafts and came across this on Aliexpress. Screenshot 2025-11-16 at 15.41.59.png

I am assuming that BMW have these made in China in high quantities and that this is the later shaft that they replace for free... hence the price of this one in the picture

The part ...

Re: Ambient Air Temp Sensor

The sensor is not connected to any other device on the bike, so it is totally ...

Re: Ambient Air Temp Sensor

Thank you for that information ... as long as its absence does not have an effect on the ECU

Re: Ambient Air Temp Sensor

I have the right side of the bike stripped and it is nowhere to be seen ...

Is the air sensor required by the ECU ? Or is it just for ambient temp indication ?

I know my bike had an engine swap recently ( before I bought it ) so I am going over the whole bike checking and torquing bolts.

So far ...

Re: Engine numbers

When I told a Kawasaki-riding mate that I’d moved from a Pan to the RT he said “I don’t know if I can talk to you anymore then…”
I looked at him expecting to see a grin, but he appeared to be serious… not seen or heard from him since.
Some people are very strange.

Strange indeed ...

I could ...

I will get the code off the engine tomorrow and have a poke around the internet ...

Engine numbers

Hello,

Does anyone know if there is a way of tracing the engine number of an R1200RT ?

I ask because the bike I have had the engine replaced due to a drop.

The bike shows 31k miles and the engine apparently has 21k on it.

Im just interested to know where and what bike it came from and better ...
