New here & looking for top tips please

Hi everyone
just bought myself a 2014 RT SE so I'm new here - looks like a great site!

Looking for top tips accessory wise please:

What's essential?
What's nice to have but not essential?
What's simply down to your own taste?

In my opinion.  Fit a good fender extender.  If you have the audio system you will need some form of communication between your helmet and the unit. And some form if engine protection.  There's lots of advice on all these here.

Hi GrahamAb, welcome, enjoy the new Bike and this Forum  +1 with RTman10, but would consider the addition of a Sat Nav if not already supplied for your `touring'.........

Forgot about the sat Nav.  To save you lots of looking only 2 types will fit directly into the cradle. The BMW Nav 5 and the older Nav 4.  Also the Garmin 660.  Both the 660 and the 4 are out of production but well liked by many. Again lots of advice here on GPS things

The Sat V is very nice. Hard for me to say this about BMW accessories but worth the money.
I got a cheapie wireless intercom (T-Com SC, two headsets, links to satnav, £72 online) that's still going strong after 12 months. Easy to set up too.

If you count an accessory as something to improve your biking experience, then the best money I ever spent was 2 days one to one training with a retired police instructor. Lasts your biking lifetime and can transfer to as many different bikes as you like.

In which case, given you can clearly ride the thing pretty well, go for the akra!!
