Anyone heard of this problem with essentially a brand new bike?

Not heard of that, take it straight back to the dealer and expect them to fix it and eat some humble pie:-) Peter

No, not heard of that one before on a brand new RT! Back to the dealer without delay for a full-on justified whinge and moan!

Sounds like a bad assembly. Just get it picked up and demand a replacement while they sort it.

Your dealer should pick bike up and fix, no problem
No reason to make demands. slace cylinder is simple, if it's leaking internally, remove and replace
My bet loose bleeder screw or attach fitting
