Does anybody know whether the wide pillion footpegs of the 1600 GTL will fit a 2016 RT1200.
My wife thinks that the wider footpegs will make getting on the RT a lot easier.
Thanks

Seems unlikely, the footrest plates & footrests look very different to each other.Nwanetzi wrote:Does anybody know whether the wide pillion foot pegs of the 1600 GTL will fit a 2016 RT1200.

Would something like these passenger floorboards be an option, http://www.iliumworks.com/BMW_Motorcycl ... 700&pID=69Nwanetzi wrote:My wife thinks that the wider foot pegs will make getting on the RT a lot easier.

Re: Wider pillion footpegs
I know this is an old post but I thought I would post here as it seems the most relevant. I have a R1250RT purchased new 8 months ago. I was in the dealer the other day and had a look over the R1300RT with the Pillion pack . ( I'm sure it's not called that but you all know what I mean ). Part of the pack is bigger pillion footpegs. It turns out that they can be fitted to the 1250RT . I have ordered a pair as my wife is vertically challenged and finds the regular pegs too small and has slipped off as she was boarding. This might be of interest to others.

Re: Wider pillion footpegs
Here is a follow up. I originally requested these footpegs from my dealer here in Australia almost two months ago. I asked them yesterday if they had any idea when they might turn up and the response was an apologetic "no idea". In the meantime I found a company in Germany who could supply them. So I took the plunge and ordered a pair and, unbelievably, 6 days later I have them. I have fitted them and they fit and work perfectly. The only negative is that they don't sit perfectly horizontal but they are still very good. My PIAM is very happy with them so, fingers crossed, no falling off when trying to board. Also, the cost from Germany was AUD440 compared with AUD600 from the dealer. https://www.motorcycleparts-hornig.com was the company. I'm sure many of you have used them . Safe riding to you all.
