Pannier Protection

Post by ald71 »

Hi all,
Has anyone fitted the BMW pannier protection , that is the two strips that fit top and bottom of each pannier. If so how have you found them ? I have seen a YouTube video, by NothingToProve, who did a drop test with these fitted and they looked to save the pannier from damage.
Any info would be appreciated.

Yes, expensive but they work and don’t look too bad.

Hi Steve 398,
Thanks for replying. Ordered some from BMW.europe-moto,com for £168 inc. tax and postage. Think I may only fit the bottom ones, if the top ones hit the road I think it will be to late :-D

Hi Steve,

Found some instructions on a BMW website, the templates are marked left F and left R, for the left pannier and are place around the hinges of the upside-down pannier and taped in place as a guide for placement of the protectors :)
Thanks for taking the time to reply.

The only problem was that they had supplied two sets of left hand templates, just turned them upside down 8-)
