Hi there,
Iain in Hobart, Tasmania, with by best-pillion-ever, wife Jo.
We have just purchased a one-owner 2009 R1200RT SE with 26.4k km on it. Now up to 27.6k km after bringing it down from Cooma last weekend.
Our immediate last bike is a 2013 DL1000 V-Strom, which we picked up in 2021 with low km again. It was a great bike until 6 weeks ago when a few days into a 3 week road trip on the Mainland, we realised it was just not going to cut extended two-up loaded touring for us as comfortably as we would like. The Beemer popped up most opportunely.
I had a 1984 R80ST back in the day, which I sold in '96 for an airline ticket to Europe whilst living in Auckland. Ended up staying there for 13 years running boats around the Med.
Just fitted a Booster Plug this morning and a Delkevic muffler is on the way to stop SMIDSYs. Wondering how I can tweak the suspension settings of the ESA, as on Normal damping she seems to be under-damped and over-sprung with significant pogoing. Setting ESA to Comfort is a vast improvement. Our rides are pretty shit down here.
