Won't have to wait the normal month for the policy to start.
skysmotor.co.uk sells the following products online: high torque pancake stepper motor, geared stepper motor, servo motors, planetary gearbox and can be purchased online if required.

This year (2024), I cancelled my BMW Insured Warranty early after 6 months, didn't use the RT in October and it is now SORN'ed.

Out of interest, thought I'd run a new quote, Insured Warranty and Roadside Assistance can be purchased together or separately. Looking at RA, there is an option for basic cover, available for bikes under 10 years old within the UK & Ireland only. This option is not available to me and RA only cover would be £145.07 per year.

Would anyone with a sub-10 years old bike (without a current warranty), fancy running a (UK & Ireland only) quote to see what the difference is. https://www.motorrad-warranty.co.uk/

If I go for the usual IW & RA with a £100 excess, currently, it would cost £36.18 per month. A small increase from £35 which has been the same for me since 2018.

Just ran it through for my '18 R1250RT currently with 29k on the clock.

Roadside Assistance £145.07
Essential Roadside Assistance £65.00
Both are saying £0 Excess and I've downloaded the T&Cs as attached.

Insured Warranty.
Paid Annually £406.41 with a £50 excess or £376.59 with £100 excess.
Paid monthly £36.34 or £33.96 respectively.

Insured Warranty with Roadside Package Deal
Paid Annually £426.92 with a £50 excess or £397.08 with £100 excess.
Paid monthly £39.76 or £36.18 respectively.

The Essential Roadside Assist isn't an option if you go for the warranty & roadside package deal.

Hope this helps.

Thank you, so it looks like RA only and IW + RA with a 100 GBP excess (paid monthly) is the same for bikes +/- 10 years old.

I guess I'm not surprised by that. IIRC, the warranty is limited to the value of the bike. Therefore, their max liability will be significantly lower on older bikes.

Probably, for >10 years old, the value of the bike would rule out really major work, especially after factoring in BMW labour rates.

Correct and a good point, well worth considering when looking at having an Insured Warranty on an older motorcycle.

At the moment, I think I'd still rather pay ~£35 per month (for 6/7 months) than up to the value of my motorcycle (~£4K) for the cost of repairs.
