GPS mount bar above TFT

Post by omniphil »

Just wondering if anyone has found some sort of bar mount for GPS that goes above the main TFT on a 2021+ RT.

I found this one...

While the price seems quite high I'm not really a fan of a stick-on mount, I'd prefer something that bolts in.

I'm planning on picking up one of the AIO-5 GPS units to have Android Auto since the built in navigation always disconnects. It's not reliable enough.

Presumably, if necessary, more holes could be drilled to suit the aftermarket GPS.

I just fitted the Nippy Norman mount behind the TFT screen, yes I was initially concerned that it was just aq 'sticky' I applied it in my garage and left it 48 hours to 'set' I went out at weekend and no problems. If there had been, I think some suitable self tapping screws would make it very firm indeed. It was such a relief to se where I am going!!

That Wunderlich mount is pricey, you're right. I've seen some people use RAM mounts and adapt them, but it's not the cleanest look. I'm also not a fan of stick-on mounts for something like a GPS. If you find anything else that bolts on nicely, let me know
