Post by carrollthomas »

Hi, does anyone know what this socket is for, it is located under the front fairing under the near side mirror, there are 3 cables going into it but the socket is blank on the inside and no pins are visible

I was thinking it was an AUX port but why would the internal of the socket have no pins to connect to, you can see the cables going into it but nothing on the inside...

The cap/blanking cover needs to be removed from the plug/socket to expose the pins.

As David says you will need to remove the blanking cover then it will connect to all the wiring for the AUX lights

It plugs in to the wiring connector just under number 9

Thanks For the info

I took 12v power from it and installed a qi stand-charger for my waterproof mobile-GPS (Google maps)

Here are the 2 products you need.

Hi. I hope this is the right place to ask this question. I have taken delivery of a new 2024 R1250RT. I read that the bikes have this spare power socket located between the handlebars and the left side mirror. Some use it for satnav. For those owners here in Australia, do our bikes have this cable ? If so could I use it to power my iPhone ? Any help appreciated. Have a safe Christmas/New Year.

Another question. Has anyone drilled or considered drilling a small hole into the phone cubby so that the USB could be used to power an iPhone mounted on the handlebars ?

Hi David. Thanks for your reply. Much appreciated. I hope so but I know that specs can vary depending on which country the bike is in. I had a look in that area but I couldn't see it. It may be well hidden of course. Looks like another question for the dealer. Cheers.
