took the forks off to have the lower legs repainted.

A couple of days ago actually… looked at the forecast the night before, which said overcast but dry and temps of 8-10c, so ideal for a ride out coffee meet with a mate the following day.

So at 0930, booted and suited I walked out the front door to rain and 5.5c…. Muttered a rude word and turned around.

The car journey that followed was boring but dry, a good chat with bacon rolls and coffee then up to Motolegends to buy a pair of Halvarssons lobster mitts @£74.99 instead of £100 after finding a better price online and using their ‘Price match minus another 10% deal’.

A good day then

I've had my Hein Gericke version of those for more than 10 years and they have been / still are excellent. My better half tells me i'm a grip for not buying new winter gloves but the HG's still do the job so why spend the money? My better half is from south of the border so she keeps saying i'm a typical tight Scot.......and so the discussion ensues

I had the HG lobsters years ago when I was doing CBT’s, they were superb but leaked one day before the 1 year warranty expired. I called into the shop, showed them the receipt (self employed) and they handed me a pair straight off the shelf immediately.

I bought the Rukka version a couple of years ago but found I didn’t like them in use, so sold them on and bought the Halvarssons which feel much better.

Since my wife helped me sort out my tool chests, bless her but I can't ever find anything. So all the tools were out on the floor and sorted how I like them. Took me 4 hours and 6 cups of Tea.
I even had a drawer free to put my Dads' and Granddads old and handmade tools.

Had the clutch apart on my 1955 M65 Panther. One of the adjuster nuts made a bid for freedom, the other day. It's only been together for 30 years!

Still, an opportunity to give the primary chain and sprockets a good look over, after I have cleaned off all of the swarf from the spring cup, which was rattling around inside the chaincase. Luckily, I have plenty of spares, so an easy (and cheap) fix!

Since my wife helped me sort out my tool chests, bless her but I can't ever find anything. So all the tools were out on the floor and sorted how I like them. Took me 4 hours and 6 cups of Tea.
I even had a drawer free to put my Dads' and Granddads old and handmade tools.

They are mostly spanners adapted for certain jobs.Cut down, bent and a couple of open ended spanners made into ratchets. Sadly they are witworth. That's before inches came in. Grandfather was a tech toolmaker in the war working mostly on spitfires and hurricanes. His last job was as tech head for the concord. He saw the first flight and the last just before he passed. His skills were passed to my father, who was also a tool maker

520miles. Left home in Shropshire at 6.15am 250miles to Newcastle-upon-Tyne to give moral suport to my Aunty. Across to the other side of the country to bring my brother up to date, and long ride home in the dark. The tempurature hit a high of 5 or 6c but most of the time the readout was telling me it was 3.5 or 4.0c. Then there was the windchill and for the last 50miles rain. I got back at 8.30pm - All I'll say is thank goodness for GorTex, Keis heated kit, an Airhawk, a Pinlock and a R1250RT that just purred along.

Returned home from La Roche. Saw 5 small boats on the crossing. Looked bloody dangerous to me. 30 people in a blow up made for less than 15 people max.
Was hoping for warmer weather over there but it was the same as here.
