BMW don't make spark plugs, they are made by NGK. What is a sensible price.

I use NGK Iridium plugs. Haven't had to adjust them in 4 years. Costs a bit extra but gives a cleaner spark and lasts longer.

This thread would seem to suggest that Iridium spark plugs are more cost effective, viewtopic.php?t=3633

You have to be careful where you buy them. There are a lot of fake ones for sale. Even large motor parts dealers have been scammed.
Look on YT to compare If yours is a FAKE or not. I bought mine from a SAAB service center that I have trusted for years

AFAIK, the recommended service interval for the standard plugs is 24,000 miles. At what mileage do you change the Iridium plugs.

Its 12,000 miles on the 1250 that they say change the spark plugs.

NKG say that they will last 40-50k miles. So if you can get 24k out of them, then there worth buying.

I think I will be replacing mine with iridiums next as I have found that at 12k they are well past their best and was getting the odd miss fire

I have never known a bike eat plugs like this one does!

I will still replace them every 12k due to how much wear was on the standard plugs
