Re: What did you do today?
Today, I am cooking a three-course dinner for my wife for Mother's Day. Three sons and four grandkids are coming. I don't mind cooking; it's the washing up I hate. No, we haven't a dishwasher. It's cheaper for me to do it, she says

Mother's day and Xmas day I cook and wash up. Mainly to get away from the noise.burridge01 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 30, 2025 12:04 pm Shirley your not cooking and cleaning up afterwards. What with that lot round. In our house it's one or the other.

Re: What did you do today?
My wife cooked a Sunday roast for me and my mum, I spent the morning prepping materials and treating a panel and some wood ready for this morning, just replacing the top panel and post in my fence, I gave warning to the neighbor and it was fine.
However last night knock at door asking me to leave it until Thursday
. Not very happy about that as I try and do jobs when I feel up to it.

Re: What did you do today?
That’s a pain isn’t it? I did the decent thing at my last house, warning several of my neighbours that I was painting the fence, that I would be very careful but it was quite possible that some of the paint would dribble through onto their sides.
All were OK but one - what colour and shade was I painting? How was I doing it? Could I take more care or have a professional do it?
I suggested she might like to do it for me… we fell out!

Replaced the guttering around the garage and moved the water bin. Had to fix some mesh on the downpipe as the squirrels were dropping their nuts down the tube. Tried it myself, but they get stuck halfway

New pair of Michelin Road 6's on the GS
Hopefully they'll run quieter than the Michelin Anakee Adventures it came with as supplied. Should get similar mileage too from past experience (10k) till on summer.
The GS 'is' the better bike :-)

Drifted down to The Classic Motorhub near Cirencester to meet a relative that's just put his classic racing car up for sale there.
Brilliant place to visit, or even buy if you've got a spare £100000 to spend .

Re: What did you do today?
I got 15 sacks of moss out of my small lawn a month ago, I sold my pertrol scarifier years ago but I bought a cheap electric one and does it ever rip the moss out!. I then used a watering can to put 15 ltrs on concentrated liquid iron on (£30 from Amazon) which killed the remainder and has greened the grass up. It’s getting rather dry though…..burridge01 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 31, 2025 5:54 pm Ist cut of the year.Scarified better than last years abomination, then seeded.Still suprises me how much comes up/off with the scarifier.

Mine is looking better, even after a couple of days. Not heard of this liquid iron stuff,I'll look into that if it gets rid of the moss.I'll leave the lawn now for a month/6 weeks and let the seed germinate before I do anything elsePanman40 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 02, 2025 5:49 am I got 15 sacks of moss out of my small lawn a month ago, I sold my pertrol scarifier years ago but I bought a cheap electric one and does it ever rip the moss out!.
