I'm new to BMWs, and recently returned to biking after a hiatus of over 30 years!
When I was a kid in the late '70s and early '80s, my Uncle had a R100RT and I used to badger him for pillion rides whenever he came to visit.
I had a succession of Japanese bikes through college and university and into the start of my career, and then bought a rusty sports car... but the biking itch has always remained.
Recently I acquired this 2009 R1200RT. It has a few battle scars, 44k miles on on the clock, it rattles in neutral, the TPS doesn't work, and neither does the fuel gauge, and I bl00dy love it!
