Just renewed my bike insurance. Half of what it cost last year. How does that work?

Mine is looking better,even after a couple of days.Not heard of this liquid iron stuff,I'll look into that if it gets rid of the moss.I'll leave the lawn now for a month/6 weeks and let the seed germinate before I do anything else

As everyone was doing it, I joined in by reseeding some of the holes the squirrel keeps digging up. We had 8 at one stage, along with a stoat, 2 badgers, and the Foxes. Now we're down to just 1 squirrel.

I did a Bikesafe day at Worthing, all good except I was critiqued for trimming a painted mini rbt.

The hardest thing I found was sticking to the speed limits…

yesterday i took 2 x 3 seater settee's apart, made one 2 seater and one 4 seater.
later this week i might be putting them back to 2 x 3 seaters when the wife gets home.

I took a Goldstar riders course back in the 80s. I came free with my bn bike. Spent 3 hours riding around cones, then 3 hours of road craft.
I was the only one to have gears; all the rest had things like the Honda Express. We had to keep stopping or slowing to walking pace for them to catch up.
This course was meant to give discounts on insurance but if IRC, I was only paying £45 fully comp.
I bet only us oldies can remember the silver,bronze, and gold star courses

Odd you mentioned that, just before I was 16 yrs old my mum entered a radio competition to win some kind of rider course for me, I can’t recall what it was called exacykty but maybe Starider ?.
I had been riding a Honda c50 from age of 6 on the farm we worked on and grew up at plus I learned a lot of mechanical stuff from my dad.
I was at the time 15 and too young to take the course but they postponed it for me. I remember the guy taking the course telling us how to ride in single track lane ( road position etc) and I never did take that advice!.
There was a session on maintenance and one of the things he was drumming into us was chain adjustment and there should be no more than an inch of slack, when we followed him out of the car park for I think the last road session his chain rolled off the sprockets it was so worn and slack…

Sadly a few years later I heard he was killed but not on a bike, he was walking home from the rugby club one night and a car mounted the pavement and hit him. Very sad and such a long time ago now.
