When my children were young I had them persuaded that haggis were dog-sized creatures that lived high on Scottish mountains, and to deal with the inclines they had legs on one side longer than the other, so the males ran clockwise around the mountain withe females anticlockwise.
Being so young I didn’t have to deal with the thorny issue of the mating habits of the mature haggis!
