Re: What did you do today? It's actually yesterday now. But still.......

950kms from Sunny Carnarvon in the Gascoyne of Western Australia to the most isolated State Capital City in the World, Perth WA.
The weather was beautiful, temps between 28 & 32 degrees Celsius. So just right.
Didn't have too many issues with wildlife or stock on the roads, just a few of heards of feral goats, a couole of emus & some smart arse crows, & the tin top drivers were behaving themselves aswell. There was the standard fair of Road Trains, but they're generally pretty good with getting you around safely as soon as they can.
Got a late start, which wasn't quite to plan, leaving around 0900hrs, but still made it by close of check-in at the 'hotel', at 2000hrs.
Ebony was great to ride & I could still walk when I arrived, & even this morning, so gotta be happy with that. She's now in desperate need of a bath, but thanks to the magic of BMW my helmet visor is almost completely free of bug splat, which is a bonus.
Quite by 'accident', otherwise known as poor planning, I discovered that the 'Distance to Empty' facility counts right the way down to zero.😳 I did try to get fuel about 150kms out of Perth, but they only had RON90 fuel at the Ampol Roadhouse, then I didn't happen upon another Ampol Service Station. I was sweating on what she might do at zero, & when she got there I caved, pulled into a BP & put 5 litres in, about 5kms from destination. Did 10kms total before finding an Ampol, where she guzzled down another 21 litres, so I'm thinking that should be the absolute lowest fuel loading she's ever going to have, short of dumping fuel for a specific purpose. It was more stessful than being 'arrested' & held by Emirates Customs & Border Protection.
Even tried out the heated grips & seat last night as it was 'cold', the temp having dropped to 10C. 🥶
Now looking forward to a few days tonking around town before heading back again.
All part of the adventure.🙃

One plus. I now know which aisle everything is on. I can get around in 30 minutes, which took me twice before.
Sorry to hear your wife is not well, that’s a long time to be laid up.
My wife works full time and I’m retired since September, I do basically everything including 90% of the cooking. I honestly don’t know how I had time to work before….

Doc,as painfully and distressing it is for you,it will be even harder for your wife.I know,I've been in her shoes.I was housebound for 8 months, struggled to wipe me own arse, absolutely soul destroying having to rely on someone to do things we take for granted. It is a mental struggle for all involved.
I wish you and your partner all the very best and hopefully she will be on her legs soon. Also remember there is help out there for you,you don't have to do things alone :thumb:

I love her to bits, even after 36 years. I've been in her shoes, been in the hospital for 2 years, then in bed for another. But my pain wasn't like hers.
I will do anything for her. Being a retired nurse, she isn't one of the best patients.
Trust me I am a retired Doctor and lecturer at Oxford University of Structural and Mechanical/Electrical engineering.

Housework is a nightmare. How the hell women get to work, clean up, and then cook a meal is beyond me. I reccond their all secret witches with a wand.
