Front brake pads

Being lazy, is it possible to change the front pads without removing the callipers ?.

On my Camhead, the inner pad on each caliper wears more than the outer. To even out the wear, I swap the pads around within the same caliper. This can be done without removing the caliper.

If the pistons can be pushed back sufficiently (without damaging the disc) to accept the new (thicker) pads, then I don't see why not.

It is but you will need to push the pistons back into the calipers due to the new ones having more friction material on them

I like to remove the calipers and clean them while replacing pads

Thanks chaps, obviously it’s on the later bike 2019. I’ll order up some pads soon.

It's two bolts to take calipers off , might as well clean them.

If you do opt to remove the calipers then remove the pads first

It makes it easier to get the calipers past the discs
