Ultra twisties....thoughts

Post by Lynxfixer »

I've got a 2014 LC, and I've just got back from 12 days riding around the French Alps. With all those hairpin bends I found myself having to force it down into first gear and really struggled to get round. Guys on GS's seemed to have a much easier time of things. Anyone have experience of both types of bikes on these types of roads. Is the GS set up better..........or am I just lacking in talent!!

The RT is a big heavy bike for hurrying round hair pins so don't doubt your abilities. The GS has higher gearing and wider bars which allow you to use the torque of the engine to pull you out of hairpins in second gear and the wider bars to help muscle the bike around tight stuff, the only problem with the GS for that type of riding is the 19 inch front wheel, give it a 17" front wheel and all that torque and it would be a weapon.

If only we could have the perfect bike to be perfect at everything.
