Engine suddenly lost power

Post by Rayjohnston »

Hi Everyone
Just back from a very short ride and was only out 10mins when engine suddenly lost power, I had no response from the throttle- it’s as though the ignition had been turn off. I coasted into the side of the road from a speed of about 45mph and before I actually stopped , engine burst into life again.
No warning lights of any kind came on while this happened or on the ride home. Bike behaving as if nothing happened.
It’s a 2016 1200RT and about 31k on the clock. Had it since Nov 24 and it’s never missed a beat. I will be checking battery terminals etc for being secure tomorrow. Has this happened to any of you guys ???

Same here... Happened to me 4 times during the last 7000 km or so . I suspect the microswitch in the left handlebar or the side stand switch. Need to have at look at it but can't really be bothered because it only occurs around 1 out 40 times.. only after a long motorway ride when taking the exit and getting of the throttle. strange.. motoscan pro not showing any errors...
