First question, what is the biggest engine you will want to jump.Think Amps.

It's the Cold Cranking Amps (CCA) that are important for a jump start battery and BMW have kindly given us a clue as to the minimum requirement in the specification of the OEM battery. On a boxer engine we're talking about a high compression twin so the bigger the CCA the better.

Maybe I misread what you were looking for. I carry one of these and never had to use it on my bike, but I have saved several friends' butts over the past 2 years.

No, you didn't misread.
I want it mostly for the bike and very rarely for a mid sized car engine.

I was actually thinking what would be the biggest engine DocT would want to jump(maybe his Rover PB5 or his Rolls Canardly)then go from there. I don't reckon any bike requires a great deal of amps to fire it up.If it's just for his bike then a smaller jumper would fit the bill.

Doc,I got my Noco(respected brand)from Halfords with my trade card.Noco do varying models to suit most engine sizes and you get a decent discount via the trade card.
If you look and find one you like, let me know the model and I'll see what the trade card price is(that's if you don't have one)
Obviously review Noco, but they do have a good reputation.Mine will start any bike and me Sprinter (i have it with me now)

A Rolls or Rover P5. Even if i had the money, they would be at the bottom of my list. I dont like to spend much.

A P6 V8 or a SD1. Owned a few but must have a v8 with a manual box fitted. Also must have a pipe holder
