The VED system in the UK is ridiculous. Just taxed my 2016 RT at £121. My sons partners 2013 diesel Focus costs £20 for the year. Its bigger, heavier, emits more pollutants so that doesnt make any sense. Even less is my sons Tesla. No VED yet apart from the luxury car tax but that is 8 times heavier, far bigger etc. Time to put the VED on fuel - if you have an electric car, then you pay more per kw. Simples.
