Crash bars conundrum

Post by TPT »

Hello.
I have a 21 plate R1250RT, it came with Heed engine bars at the front, it also has head protectors on, my question is, is they a possibility my R1250RT has larger heads ?, asking as the fitted Heed front engine bars are not offering protection, the heads have the plastic protectors on the top, second question, will the 1200 rear pannier bars fit the 21 plate models ?.the frames look the same to me for the back, I have attached some pictures to give you an idea, regards

Are you sure they are Heed engine bars and the correct year(the bars are different from an earlier bike), have you got a side on shot.

I'm not 100% sure they are Heed bars
Trust me I am a retired Doctor and lecturer at Oxford University of Structural and Mechanical/Electrical engineering.
May the shaft be with you

Hello,
Yes they are Heed bars, the name is on one side of them.
The last owner fitted them 3 years ago, in the paperwork they is the fitting instructions for the Heed bars.
Is the 1250 head larger in some way?. someone said they is an option relating to the heads but I have no idea what that is.
Regards.

I think you have the wrong model year.Have a look here

I think you may have the 18-20 protectors.Of course I could be totally wrong.
