Rider seat heating

Hi all,
So, I have a 22 plate R1250RT with 7500 miles. The rider seat heating is very low on position 5 and the hand grips are insanely hot on position 5. Is this something that can be adjusted electronically through the canbus system by the dealership?

No I don't believe it can be!

I have noticed that my seat takes a fairly long time to get warm but when it does it burns!

Grips are almost instant and yes too hot on 5 and usually they are just on 3

According to the manual (well the manual for my '18 1250RT) heating position No.5 is intended to quickly heat up the grips and you should lower it to once up to temperature. In practice I rarely have mine any higher than 2, sometimes 3 but only on really cold days. No.4 just never. Your seat however doesn't sound right to me.

Again BMW say No.5 is for raipid heat up so it should be effective. Yes, seats are slower to heat up than grips but the heater on my seat is good enough that it'll actually warm the air in my Airhawk cover enough to make a difference!

I went through this situation myself, I even invested in Wunderlich Active comfort seat and thought I'd got a faulty unit. Nippy Normans advised me that the resistance should be around 6.5 ohms. I checked both my original and Wunderlich seat and both showed the similar resistance yet I couldn't determine any acknowledgeable heat even went to the extreme of using a calibrated infra-red thermometer and still didn't see any rise in temperature. I have for the time being admitted defeat as I have heated leggings available and as my riding gear is Gore-Tex equipped it's not a good idea to have the temperature outside higher than inside as the membrane has the tendency to reverse it's operation and let the rain instead of keeping it out.
If anyone has any other suggestions [ polite answers on a postcard ] I'm interested to hear.
