2024 BMW R1250 RTP Australian

I bought a crashed police bike (2024 R1250RTP). Is there a trick to opening the top box? I know there is a button on the left rear, but it won't open even with the ignition on. I converted an earlier model and can't remember whether the engine needs to be on. I don't think so. Please help. Many thanks...HNY.

My 24 RT has a key fob that locks/unlocks compartments.

I opened the radio (top) box by pressing an actuator under the small 'rear seat wedge' that sits in front of the radio (top) box. Many thanks.
