RT Trike
I have seen that there are some RT Trikes in the UK.
Do any members on here have an RT Trike.
Want to ask some question.

Re: RT Trike
From the back, it looks terrible. Seen on searches. The only bike trike i really like is the GoldWings, where the back unit blends into the sides

Re: RT Trike
How does one get into the side cases being so close to the wheel wells? Gotta be annoying to remove them everytime you want to get something out.

Re: RT Trike
Trikes, once silly to me, I now see that they are great for people with mobility problems. Respect.
How about this one...

Re: RT Trike
I have been in touch with Casarva in Peterborough.
I told them what i wanted and asked a build time and price.
Its about a month build time and the price is i better start saving now.
For what i wanted with a couple of extra's, the price is £16,025 plus VAT
If i removed the extra's i would like, the price is £14,500 plus VAT
Because my legs are getting worst and a my other health problems. I think i'm going to have it done.
I could buy an older trike for less, but i like the RT to much.
So i'm going to sell my Black/Grey Hayabusa, my Honda XL1000, and one of the wife bikes to help fund this and make room in the garage.
There is about a 6 month waiting list, So once the bikes are sold i will book my RT in to be done.
You pay £200 at time of booking. 60% when you drop the bike off. Then a 20% payment part way into the build and the balance when its finished.
I have also looked at the sidecar option which is cheaper. But i need the reverse gear that the sidecar does not come with and the trike does.
I did notice the problem with the sidecases, but i think its something i can live with.

Re: RT Trike
The gap between the rear wheels and the cases is greater than the picture angle shows. I thought of one years ago after using a sidecar for a couple of years. Back then, you could only have a Harley with a reverse conversion. Some trike converters in the UK do offer a reverse gear as standard

Re: RT Trike
Over the weekend one of my friends told me about these things call "landing Gear" for bikes.
There stabilisers that come down when you stop to help support the bike.
They do make them for the RT and you press a switch to use them.
There made by a Korean company called "GLK". They cost £2200 and you fit them yourself.
They look like they would give me the help i need, without loosing that feel of riding a bike like a trike or sidecar would by having 3 wheels.
Here are 2 videos of them being fitted to a 2014> R1200RT.
Let me know what you think as i do like the idea of fitting them to my RT to help me.

Re: RT Trike
So a little update about these GLK landing gear.
I did a little bit of checking about them.
The Company GLK have stopped making them for the 2014> R1200RT & R12550RT.
The reason was they had some problems with where they were mounted no being strong enough.
So the ones that are still for sale are old stock being sold off by 3rd partys.
Also they do get in the way of the pillions boots when they are up.
So i have not brought them as i was not willing to take the risk.
So if i can't find a way to keep on riding the RT it will be sold or Px for a smaller/lighter bike.
