Bloody idiots

First oil and filter change of the year. Everyone says I am under charging. But I tell them it is not a job for me. Am just helping other bike owners that can't afford dealer prices. We've all been there.

When your doing ya thing with the bikes,do you educate the owner so they can do it themselves in the future.Or is it more of a social thing for all concerned.

I show them how to do it themselves. 99% don't trust their skills enough to do it themselves. The youngsters don't seem to look after their bikes, they just want to ride them and mostly only own the tools that came with the bike if any at all.Unlike us old school bikers that have always fixed their own bikes. I've never advertised my service, it's all from word and mouth. Funny how it goes around so fast.
As a retired Doctor of engineering I love teaching others but I also love the social part of it. It also helps my mental health. Having suffered with Bipolar most of my life sometimes i just sit and talk over a cuppa after I've serviced their bikes.No one seems in a rush. Am like a one stop shop for health and maintenance.

Wouldn't mind something like that meself(the social side)Funny when you stop work(medical grounds for me)that the world you know pretty much stops and you then have to make new discovery's.Can be pretty hard going at times.

I was retired on medical grounds as well at 50. although I do give a lecture 4/5 times a year. This all started with me just giving an oil change to a mate's bike. It has helped me to start talking to people again I was getting a bit boring. I don't like groups anymore, one reason I won't join a bikers club for ride outs
I've always worked with my hands and this gets me in the mood to start making things again

Took the Sprinter for a recall so thought I'd pop into Sycamore BMW for a nose.Got some crackin bikes in,I was taken by this GS1300 Trophy.Out of my league financially (I always pay outright)





Hopefully by the time I'm good to get back on 2 wheels a few 2nd hand will have filtered through the system.

Wouldn't touch one with the weekly recalls on them. Gearbox, Suspention, starter motors, engine exchanges, frames etc

Will be a while till I'm fit enough to obtain anything like it.Any glitches should have been ironed out by then.Can't beat a bit of window shopping

That's true. But things always look better behind glass. They have already put out that a 1400 GS is coming out

I think the 1400 version they've mentioned is still going to be a 1300 engine, it's just going to be more off road focused or something daft/gimmicky like that.

No it's a new engine. First I will come out as a GSA then feed though the range. The 1300cc engine will stop being offered
A new 450 engine is coming out. This will be a twin cyl for a 450 GS with other models following
